Cozumel, Mexico
In May 1999, we went to Cozumel, Mexico. The weather was warm, both day and night, but never over 100 degrees. Humidity was ominous at times, mostly on the mainland. The Caribbean Sea was warm compared to other places we've been. This is the view we had from our hotel, La Ceiba. The cruise boats docked right behind our hotel. There was snorkeling right from the shore and a dive shop on the premises.
There were coral formations and varieties that were new to us. The view underwater looked like this.

Here is a starfish from an area
known for an abundance of these guys, aptly named The Sky. This guy
was over a foot wide and about six inches in height.
