Congo Hotel

A lifetime ago...and not proud of it...

There was place outside Clare we all knew so well
It was a place where they kept grass and booze to sell
The girls were easy and we treated them like hell
And the name of the place was the Congo Hotel...

In the Congo Hotel all the guys would come in
It was amusing to see the proprietor grin
She knew we had money and she'd soon have it all
"Rentrez mes vieux," you'd hear Saraphie call...

Saraphie would laugh as the money rolled in
We'd drink beer, smoke pot or just sit and grin
‘Til we'd all get so stone we couldn't move no more
And we'd pass out scattered all over the floor...

Four bucks for your bed though you slept on the floor
The "ladies" there had cost you at least ten more
And five bucks for having smashed her bar
Now move your ass and bring back your father his car...

There was place outside Clare we all knew so well
It was a place where they kept grass and booze to sell
The girls were easy and we treated them like hell
And the name of the place was the Congo Hotel.
