The following hunting misconceptions are directly from PeTA's website. If you hunt, you'll see the fallacy. If not, then you might be interested in the other side or the story as well.
In 3 back to back sentences, PeTA suggests leaving animals alone and controlling their natural fertility.
Georgia has tried to DECREASE the her deer heard for the last 10 years. Georgia maintains her levels through deer harvest only, (Usually by allowing more does/females to be taken), However, PeTA states,
Here's another PeTA fantasy from their website:
Hiring of sharpshooters to control deer population is excessively costly. Sharpshooters are paid by the hour with a bonus paid to the quantity that they kill. A sharpshooters ONLY goal is to lower populations quickly, that's what they are hired to do. He/she will be paid the same for killing does, bucks and fawns while spotlighting them at night.
PeTA fails to state the source of their "studies" in this quote. Since PeTA fails to hunt, how do they know these statistics? Where do they come from? Who's doing the estimating? What knowledgeable person said this?
Personally, I've harvested nearly 50 deer in my life. I have failed to recover 2. This gives me a 4% failed recovery ratio. PeTA claims the average failed recovery ratio is higher than 66%! With these statistics, I am either a "Super-Hunter/Demi-God/TV Hunting Show Host" type guy
............or.............
PeTA is telling a damn lie!
But then again, what else is new? I'm sorry ya'll, I just can't stand a damn liar.
