'Disc' Dec
16th 1961
I took the photo in 1962 with my Voigtländer Vito BL camera. I was with a journalist working for a local newspaper who maintains it was taken in Halifax, just a few days after Helen appeared in Bradford. Where initially I thought we had taken the photo. In my opinion although she has a good profile it was not a good photo. I have seen one published in that local newspaper where her personality comes out very well. At the time most pictures were of Helen smiling which is why I specifically asked her not to smile!

'BRITISH Rock History owes a debt to this fantastic STAR of the early sixties who was to Boys what Cliff was to Girls and a voice that really should have been heard MORE in the rest of the World. This RARE concert programme was a few months prior to when Helen would tour with "THE BEATLES"

On the bill was a taste of the future the talented FOUR JAYs who became "Brian Epsteins" FOURMOST who worked with THE BEATLES and provided the Legend BILLY FURY with support in the early days (Sound of Fury)
Also on the programme are the Brook Bros Red Price with drummer "Andy White" the Extra Beatle for those who know a real item of British Rock History in this Programme.

Who knows how this small group networked and created Rock n Roll history that was about to rewrite POP History.'
