About Me

Greetings in Christ!  Hello and welcome to my home on the net. My name is Fr. Andrew Lawrence and I am a Roman Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Dubuque, Iowa, and a US Air Force Reserve Chaplain. 

I grew up and spent the first 18 years of my life on a typical Eastern Iowa farm. After graduating from Monticello High School in 1988.  In 1987 I joined the Iowa Army National Guard as a communications radio operator. In 1990 enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, as a Security Police, Law Enforcement Specialist, where I spent four years on active duty. While in the Air Force I was stationed at Peterson AFB, Colorado; Osan AB, S. Korea; and Travis AFB, California. In addition to these assignments, I spent time on temporary assignments in Germany and Okinawa, Japan. After my active duty enlistment I joined the Iowa Air National Guard. In 1998 I was appointed a second lieutenant in USAF Chaplain Candidate program. In 2000 I was reappointed as Chaplain and presently hold the rank of captain.

Following my active duty enlistment I completed my degree at Loras College in Dubuque, IA, where I also entered ST. Pius X Seminary. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996 with a Major in Philosophy and a Minors In Theology and Sociology. Following college I entered The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity in Saint Paul, Minnesota where I received a Master of Divinity degree in 2000.

I am presently serving as an associate pastor at the Church of the Resurrection in Dubuque, Iowa

My hobbies include: listening to music, reading, movies, running, mountain biking, hiking and camping, skiing (downhill and cross country), and the Net. I am also working on my private pilots license.

A commentary on abortion!

"They worshiped the idols of the nations
and they became a snare to entrap them.

Please pray for an end to abortion and the slaughter of 1.4 million innocent  children per year!
