************
Off in the distance,
Set upon a hill;
Stood an old lighthouse,
Battered, worn and still.
Many years of service,
Its beacon never blind;
Keeping ships from flounder,
Its service to mankind.
On and on, through generations,
Its light never did go out;
Mirrors highly polished,
Its keepers were devout.
Time…technology would change it,
Nothing ever standing still;
Pull it down…replace it,
Replace the lighthouse on the hill.
Still, that lighthouse stands,
Tall, majestic…proud;
Always…ever…never changing,
Head held high…unbowed.
JESUS is our Lighthouse,
Standing straight and tall;
Many try to change Him,
Causing others to fall.
He has stood the test of time,
Technology…naught to Him;
Solid…our Rock is He,
Bowing not to man's whim.
Knowledge comes…knowledge goes,
Science not so smart;
Believers have it all within,
JESUS, in their heart.
