Proverbs 3:1 "My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,
2 for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.
3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (NIV)

THE PATH that I must follow,
It’s unlike any other;
Not THE PATH that has been followed,
By my father, mother…sister or my brother.

Each one of us is made unique,
Only one of its kind;
Not even identical twins…totally alike,
Of this…I did find.

I didn’t have a clue,
As I was thrust into this world;
I thought that things just happened,
Until His plan began to be unfurled.

Bumps and scrapes…disappointments,
When I did the best that I could;
And, there were many times that I,
Did what others said I “should”.

But, sooner or later…in each life,
We take the time to understand;
Just what it is all about,
And, we ask God…what is His plan.

For we know there must be a reason,
Why we go through the things we do;
Surely, a lesson that we must learn,
Not just one…but quite a few!

We begin to see a pattern,
Like a road map…it begins to unfurl;
It’s THE PATH that I must follow,
The one mapped-out…for this girl!

Oh, there were many times,
When from THE PATH…I did wander;
These times were to my detriment,
I had to stop…sit down and ponder.

But, God was always faithful,
To steer me back on track;
He was more than enough,
For all the things that I did lack.

More and more…I sought His will,
His plan…especially for me;
And, I learned that He knows what is best,
It’s THE PATH that He has planned…you see!
