Have you ever stopped and wondered,
Have you even stopped to guess;
Do you realize the impact,
And, just how much we’re blessed?

That death upon the Cross,
And, all it procured;
Our Perfect Sacrifice,
Because of all that He endured.

So far-reaching…to one and all,
Everyone who will believe;
All its accomplishments,
More than the mind can conceive.

BECAUSE OF THE CROSS,
God sees us just as if we’ve not sinned;
We’ve been "called"…IN Christ,
His kingdom…now we’re free to enter in.

What was done upon the Cross,
God’s Perfect Lamb was slain;
We’ve been made right with our God,
While He…in another’s tomb had lain.

O’ spotless Lamb of God,
His shed blood…justified us;
Poured-out…upon the earth,
Atonement for our sin.

We’ve been washed in His blood,
Now…garments white as snow have we;
Cleaned from the inside…out,
From our old nature…set free.

BECAUSE OF THE CROSS,
We are "justified";
Not later…but right now,
Its truth…can’t be denied.

The ‘Light’ of the world was placed,
Into the darkest earth;
Was this the end of everything,
Or would there be new-birth?

Did our LORD stay in the ground,
Death have a hold on Him;
He was the ‘Light’ of the world,
Did His ‘Light’ suddenly grow dim?

If not our Perfect Sacrifice,
Then, God would have left Him there;
But, His sacrifice was accepted,
And, He shows how much He cares.

BECAUSE OF THE CROSS,
God now raised our LORD in "glory";
His brilliant ‘Light’ burst forth,
And, that tells the whole story.

Called, Justified…Glorified,
Not of ourselves…but IN our LORD;
Certainly not in the future,
But, right now…glory to God!
