OUR CHOICE

Josh.24:15 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Be sensitive and caring,
In all you say and do:
Let your words be words of kindness,
Just as our Heavenly Father would do.

See to the needs of others,
On yourself…spend little time;
Deeds turned inward…perish,
Turned outward…they’re sublime.

Why should we turn…within ourselves,
These thoughts tend to fester;
Depression quickly follows,
On a downward way…disaster!

Rise above these lowly thoughts,
Soar on eagles’ wings;
Far above worldly cares,
Up there…the sun is always shining.

We have this choice everyday,
To be an eagle or a chicken;
Soar in the heavenlies above,
Or scratch around in the barnyard with the chickens.

If we choose the barnyard,
An egg is the most we can produce;
Cluck…cluck and scratch round,
Not much of a life…we deduce.

And, if we choose the heavenlies,
Rise above all earthly cares;
Not that we are insensitive,
Our burdens…He gladly bears.

Forget that barnyard mentality,
A chicken…nobody wants to be;
To scratch around in the dirt,
From eyes focused on the ground…set free.

Join those with a higher vision,
A purpose and a goal;
Rise above present disaster,
You’re an eagle…He has made you whole.

To the barnyard…we shall no longer go,
Don’t even think about it;
This, our nature no longer,
Just STOP…break the habit!

First and foremost in our thoughts,
To make our calling sure;
Our knees…the place to start,
Rest in Him…secure.

Take the time to listen,
Our Father has much to say;
He won’t be rushed…His timing perfect,
Always on time…no delay.

If we rush on without Him,
And, a corner He does make;
Farther along we’ll stop and wonder,
Why…this road we did take.

Save yourself time and effort,
STOP…and in Him rest;
Knowing He really cares for us,
And, His way is always best!
