GROW UP!

Heb. 5:12 “For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

Babies are so soft and cuddly,
Tell me one…who can resist;
Their dancing eyes…reaching arms,
Fat, little toes…their need to be kissed.

Babies…sweet-smelling babies,
If only forever they could remain;
But, time has a way of changing,
Their time for growing up…we can’t detain.

If we could hold them back,
Soft and cuddly…forever be;
Wouldn’t it be a sad thing…really,
Held back…thwarted…never to be all they can be?

Think about it now…in the spirit,
“Newborns” in Christ…such a delight;
Everyone wants to be near them,
So vibrant…so very full of life.

We smile…join in their jubilation,
That first step…out in faith;
We pick them up when they fall,
We encourage…never abase.

The years fly by…where do they go?
Off to school…to learn more;
In the natural…and in the spirit,
Lessons learned…o’er and o’er.

They learn to walk and then to run,
One day they run away;
No longer bound to us,
Their own person now…are they.

Will they fall down and then get up,
For with them…we cannot forever be;
The natural babe…the spiritual babe,
Must grow up…a child, not forever stay.

What a shame…it would be,
If we remained forever soft and cuddly;
Always needing to be picked up…fed,
A lifetime spent…without responsibility.

Thank God…it’s not His will for us,
A child…to forever be;
Father has a higher calling on our lives,
“I in you…and you in Me”. (John 14:20)

His life within…His Spirit growing strong,
Growing us up…you see;
Unto the fullness of Christ, (Ephesians 4:13)
Then, go out and set the whole world free.

For we have a calling on this life,
That Father has birthed…within;
To let Christ be seen and not ourselves,
That’s how His Kingdom is ushered in.

Let the Love flow out…that He’s put inside,
Don’t draw back…but, let it flow;
For “God is Love”…He can’t be contained, (1 John 4:8,16)
So, just let His Love to others…go!
