REJECTED - ACCEPTED

Luke 17:25 “But first must He suffer many things, and be REJECTED of this generation.”
*****
Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us ACCEPTED in the beloved.”

Do you know the pain of rejection,
When others turn their backs;
Have you experienced the aloneness,
Total isolation…total lack?

Perhaps a friend…who used to be,
A friendship…you once knew;
And now…it has grown cold,
It seems nobody can be true.

What if an entire family,
Suddenly turned and walked away;
A difference of opinion,
Caused them to act this way.

And, if suddenly your eyes were opened,
You saw the reason why;
It wasn’t their fault…after all,
The truth of the matter…you’d denied.

In all actuality…quite different,
Than what you had supposed;
It’s you who had rejected them,
If the truth be told.

Sometimes we’re so high and mighty,
And “humble”…shall I add;
That we think others are to blame,
When it’s we who have been the cad.

Never pleasant to see the truth,
When it’s we who have been in err;
The finger pointed at them,
Now points at us…as it were.

Just as we looked to them,
Expecting somehow…a change of heart;
Now, we see that it is us,
Who…from this way of thinking…must depart.

Oh, so humbling…so very humbling,
When we see the error of our ways;
But, ‘tis far better to see it,
Than to remain in error all our days.

It never was ‘they’ who rejected,
And, not ‘they’ who walked away;
It was ‘we’ we turned our backs on them,
It was ‘we’ who didn’t stay.

This fear of rejection,
So strong in us…had grown;
We could not wait to be rejected,
We did it first…all on our own.

And, what ‘we’ feared most…came upon us,
Total isolation…all alone;
Not what ‘they’ had done to us,
But, what ‘we’ had done, on our own.

Now, think about it…what’s the solution,
To this problem…we have caused;
If rejection be the problem,
When, what is the opposite?

Rejection isolates us,
So, acceptance is the answer;
Acceptance for them and for ourselves,
Pretty solid…and it’s Scripture.

Scripture…don’t be afraid of that word,
For every problem…there’s an answer;
And, every answer,
In this Book…contained.

From rejection…to acceptance,
And, everything in between;
His word will set us free,
If we’ll let His Spirit intervene.

Give His Spirit free course,
In your life…today;
Allow His Spirit to transform you,
For…this way we don’t want to stay.

When rejection is turned around completely,
And, only acceptance we do see;
We’ll know something of His love within,
Like our Father…we will be!
