************
Have you been burned by others,
When…in them you had trust;
With all the best of intentions,
The results were still…abust?
Your heart was in your hand,
Straight-forward…you had been;
And, they…in return,
In your back, had thrust a skean?
Perhaps so unintentional,
Maybe they had done their best;
For we are all so "human",
All of us…shall fail the test.
At one time…or another,
We'll let each other down;
Although we don't want to,
Each will appear…the town clown.
A fool we make of ourselves,
When first our mouth we open;
We wish…with all our hearts,
Those words we'd never spoken.
So, let's not be too hard,
On those who are mistaken;
Even though they say or do things,
By which our hearts are broken.
For we are all a part of,
The brotherhood of man;
Finite beings are we,
This we share…in common.
Only God is true,
He makes no mistakes;
We can trust in Him…completely,
While we sleep and when we awake.
He will never fail us…never let us down.
Fully trusting in Him;
He's our Father in Heaven,
And, we are here…mere pilgrims.
Let's not be too hard on ourselves,
And, not so hard on others;
While we sojourn…here on earth,
Let's learn to Love one another.
