Glossary of Security Terms:
- Control Panel
The control panel is the brains of security system. It receives information from the sensors and sends the signals to the central station, a 24 hour monitoring facility. The control panel is usually installed in the utility room, garage, or concealed location such as a hall closet.
- Keypads
The keypad lets you operate your system by entering your unique security code. S & S Security Systems offers a variety of keypads you can choose from to suit your needs and budget.
- Motion Detectors
Motion detectors detect activity inside your home. These devices can be turned off while the perimeter protection sensors remain activated. This allows you to move about freely in your home, while still keeping the doors and windows secured.
- Panic Buttons
Wired emergency transmitters can be installed by your bed for home use or anywhere you need them for business. Wireless transmitters can be carried or kept by a bed. They are ideal for the disabled. This device lets you signal for help with the press of a button.
- Perimeter Sensors
Perimeter sensors are frequently located at vulnerable entry points such as doors and windows. Common perimeter sensors are magnetic contacts and glassbreak sensors.
- Remote Controls
S & S Security Systems offers a wide variety of remote control devices that allow you the advantage of portability. With one of their unique devices, you can arm and disarm the system with the press of a button. That means you do not have to remember your security code. If you like, these devices can also be programmed to turn on lights and open garage doors.
- Sirens
Sirens can be placed inside or outside of your home. This alerts your family to emergencies.
- Smoke Detectors
Smoke and fire detectors are important life safety devices that you should include in the interior of your home. Monitored smoke detectors are on 24 hours a day even if the burglary protection is turned off. This allows the system to react to fire emergencies at any time.
- Telephone Modules
If you take advantage of the telephone voice module, you can use any touch tone telephone in the world to operate your system. Now, even if you are on vacation, you can check the status of your system. The voice module will confirm the status by using phrases from its over 100 word English vocabulary.
