Advertising copywriting:

Audiovisuals: For writing, $250-350 per request4ed scripted minute; includes rough draft, editing conference with client, and final shooting script. For consulting, research, producing, directing, soundtrack oversight, etc., $400-600 per day plus travel and expenses. Writing fee is sometimes 10% of gross production price as billed to client.

Books, as-told-to (ghostwriting): Author gets full advance and 50% of author's royalties; subject gets 50%. Hourly rate for subjects who are self-publishing ($25-50 per hour).

Book, ghostwritten, without as-told-to-credit: For clients who are either self-publishing or have no royalty publisher lined up, $5,000 to $35,000 (plus expenses) with one-fourth down payment, one-fourth when book half finished, one-fourth at three quarters mark and last fourth of payment when manuscript completed; or chapter by chapter.

Book content editing: $12-50 per hour and up; $600-5,000 per manuscript, based on size and complexity of the project.

Book copyediting: $9-22 per hour and up.

Book jacket blurb writing: Up to $600 for front cover copoy plus inside and back cover copy summarizing content and tone jof the book.

Book manuscript criticism: $160 for outline and first 20,000 words; $300-500 for up to 100,000 words.
