You are of me and I are of you

Spirituality is something about the relationship we have with ourselves, with the others and with the universe. Spirituality is very useful to all of us. It helps us discover again the treasure of love that we possess within our hearts. Love, compassion and devotion are among many other qualities that we recover when we start to open our spirituality. the spiritual path is very subtle and simple. One does not need to posses any special powers to be spiritual. One has just to stay open to life. this openness is what keeps all of life interconnected. Spirituality is an evolutionary process of the soul. It is the path towards completion not perfection. Presence and spirituality are very similar. Being present is the way towards spiritual awakening. there is a big difference between being spiritual and fixing oneself up to look spiritual. For may centuries we have been taught how to fix ourselves to look spiritual, to the point that we made out of spirituality a profession. The function of the professionals of spirituality has been most of the time to dis-empower the common people. To teach them denial of their basic needs and concerns. In former time spirituality was taught by a fearful God. A God of guilt, anger and rejection. Nowadays the New Age God has taken another form of denial. He/She is smilingly affirmative, always positive, can get everything he/she wants, and knows no despair. He hides himself when sick, and pretends to be fine all the time.

That hurts to see all this destruction taking place. And there is nothing wrong with us feeling the pain of the world. It is not pathological to feel despair. With our feelings we are normal. It is a a sign that we are still alive, that we are connected. We are open to life inside and outside of our skin. That also means that we are still capable of loving, of being compassionate.

Meditation and presence

I accept my feelings of despair.

I accept the feeling of pain for the world.

I accept that we are in a mess.

I develop my sense of compassion.

I am here now, and I accept my part of the task.

I focus on my own life.

I have faith in the beauty of the creation.

I accept that I am not perfect.

Life for me is a moment and I take the course of its events as they come.

I acknowledge my helplessness for not being the all powerful God with thousand hearts to rescue humanity.

I accept the fact that there is no Messiah coming after me to clean the place and to make it look again like the golden lost paradise.

I put my life in order and bring my contribution to the world.

I re-member the divine qualities of my essence by the repetition of my Zikr.
