The Tide of the North
Whoa the overwhelming tide,
the barbarians splash against our ancient walls,
For centuries we fought them,
and crushed them without mercy,
but now,
the Legions that once stood proud flee in terror,
but now,
The Legions that once fought bravely cease to be,
Whoa the overwhelming tide,
Our once proud city now lives in fear,
for the Barbarians are at the gate.
Roman Citizen
I am a citizen of Rome
I wonder what glories my ancestors beheld
I hear the triumphal marches of our great heroes
I see the gruesome gladiatorial contests
I want Honor
I am a Roman
I pretend that I am Caesar
I feel it is my right
I touch ancient relics from conquered lands
I worry if I can bring glory to Rome
I cry of lost battles
I am a Roman General
I understand public Oratory
I say that I am the peoples candidate
I dream of conquests
I try to gain control
I hope to win
I am conspiring against the Caesar
Gaia
A mighty fortress is our mother Earth,
She’s been here many years, long before my birth.
She glides in beauty through the dark sky,
A glistening globe of blue, up so high.
She lives in the far reaches of the Milky Way,
Taking her sweet time,
Because that is her way.
She tours the galaxy and heavens for all eternity.
Among her fellow planets she’s quiet, refined , and has good taste.
She has humans on her surface from stem to stern,
And they’ve had great fun polluting her and making her burn.
We must come together to save our mother Earth,
Or else we will no longer have a warm fireplace with a hearth.
Nor anything else.
