As the younger world's competition is renewed by the Great Red's exultant clouts.

My Interpretation: Not only does Nostradamus see the Yankees winning over San Diego in five, he also witnessed four centuries prior the glorious ramifications of the 1998 baseball season and it's resurrection from near-death only four years prior. The fact of Mark McGwire's ("The Great Red") amazing feat of 70 HRs is recognized by the great seer!
