 The
Jamboree site is situated at Matang, 22 km from
the heart of Kuching city, the state capital of
Sarawak. Kuching is easily accessible by
air-links from major cities in the world, either
through direct flights or transits in Kuala
Lumpur, Singapore or Brunei.
The
Camp Site is situated at a mountainous area
within close proximity to many activity centres
such as streams, forests, rivers, wild-life park,
and other sporting facilities.
- To give opportunities for
social and cultural interchanges amongst
the BIMP-EAGA (Brunei, Indonesia,
Malaysia, Philipphines-East Asean Growth
Area).
- To enhance the concept of
BIMP-EAGA as an economic growth area.
- To bring about a greater
public awareness of scouts as a
meaningful youth movement.
- To promote environment
friendliness amongst activities planned.
- Further enhance the ideal
of scouts movement. its aim, methods and
principles.
- To promote the world
brotherhood of scouts.

- Members of the scouts, girl
scouts or girl guides in the BIMP-EAGA
countries.
- Members from other
region/contigents are welcomed.
- Campers should be 12 - 18
years on 31.12.99.
- Adult Leaders who are
warranted by their respective scout/Girl
Scout National Organisation.
- Campers should be in patrol
of 8 members. 4 patrols shall be from 1
troop and will be under the charge of 1
leader and 2 assistants.
- Other leaders may join as
staff members whose numbers shall be
limited and to be decided in due course.
