Trevor and I first met face-to-face on July 26, 1997. I had 2 tickets for a Reba/Brooks & Dunn concert. Lori, a friend at the time, was supposed to go with me (she was doing this as a favor to me since none of my friends like country music). Well, she ended up cancelling less than 2 weeks before the show, and I was stuck...not to mention that I found this out when I was in MI on vacation so that left me less time to find someone to go.

After I got back home, I was talking to Trevor on the phone and telling him what happened. I could tell he really wanted to go to the concert...he kind of hinted around and then finally just said, "Fine, if you don't want me to go, I won't!" Well, that was it and we started to make plans for him to come down. He lives in MI, 5½ hours away, so he was going to drive down the day of the concert and go home the following day. He even said he expected to stay in a hotel because we had never met and didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable (which my parents were, but I understood!). What a guy!

After all I had been through, I expected him to cancel, right up until the day of the concert. Well, he got a late start but he still made it down here. I was so excited I was bouncing around the house and acting like a total nut (just hoping Trevor wouldn't be frightened off and turn right around!). The night went great...we had a blast at the concert (once it got started...the building was struck by lightning so the show started ½ hour late). Trevor even bought us both t-shirts at the concert! I finally found someone who loves country music as much as I do...probably more!

We were having such a great time that he decided to stay an extra night, which we were both very happy about. We just spent the time getting to know each other...watching tv, talking a lot, and laughing even more! I have never had anyone make me laugh as hard and feel as good as Trevor does. We have been together ever since!!!

This was taken on July 27, 1997, the night after the concert. We're wearing the t-shirts Trevor bought at the concert.
P.S. Trevor no longer has the beard and mustache (well, unless he gets lazy for a few days and doesn't shave!).
