-New Zealand have played 310 official One-Day Internationals winning 127(41%), losing 167(53.9%), tieing 4(0.1%) with 12(0.04%) matches abandoned.

-New Zealand have played a total of 262 Test-Matches, winning 39(14.9%), losing 108(41.2%) and 115(43.9%) matches being drawn.

-New Zealand has won 56% of it's home One-Day Internationals, 28% of its away and 44% of games on neutral ground.

-In One-Day Internationals New Zealand has played in 29 tournaments (i.e. with one than one other team) but is yet to win one. The only One-Day tournament New Zealand has ever one was the Malaysian Super-Max 8's earlier in 1998.

-New Zealand's highest ever team score in a Test-Match is 671-4, which was scored in Wellington against Sri Lanka in 1991/92 where Martin Crowe and Andrew Jones combined for a World-Record partnership at the time of 467. This record was recently broken by S.T.Jayasuriya(340) and R.S.Mahanama(226), who combined for a phenomenal partnership of 571 for the 2nd wicket against India. The Crowe and Jones partnership is still a record for the 3rd wicket in all first-class cricket.

-New Zealand's highest ever One-Day International score is 348/8, which was made against India in Nagpur in late 1995. The major contributor was Nathan Astle who scored his maiden O.D.I. hundred with 114.

-New Zealand played their first ever Test-Match against England at Christchurch in 1929/30 and it's first ever One-Day International against Pakistan also in Christchurch but much later in 1972/73

-In 262 Test-Matches New Zealand batsmen have recorded 149 centuries and 479 half-centuries.

-In 310 One-Day Internationals New Zealand batsmen have recorded 26 centuries and 272 half-centuries.

-No New Zealand batsmen has scored a triple century in a Test-Match and only 6 batsmen have passed 200, with G.M.Turner doing it twice in the space of a week in the West Indies in 1971-72. The highest ever score was Martin Crowe's 299. Bryan Young made 267* against Sri Lanka at Carisbrook in Dunedin in March of 1997 when Stephen Fleming ended the innings somewhat prematurely(In my opinion) as New Zealand won with almost 4 sessions to spare.

-In One-Day Internationals the highest individual score is 171* made by G.M.Turner against East Africa at Birmingham in the 1975 World Cup.

-New Zealand's all-time leading wicket taker in Test-Match cricket is the great Sir Richard Hadlee. Sir Richard captured 431 test wickets, in only 86 tests, at an average of 22.29. He took 5 wickets in an innings on 36 ocassions and ten wickets in a match 9 times, these are both world records. The next highest wicket-taker is Danny Morrison with 160 and another 7 bowlers have taken 100 test wickets. They are J.G.Bracewell(102), B.L.Cairns(130), C.L.Cairns(103), E.J.Chatfield(123), R.O.Collinge(116), R.C.Motz(100) and B.R.Taylor(111).

-Lance Cairns and his son Chris Cairns provide they only instance in test cricket of a father and son both reaching 100 test wickets. They also provide they only instance of a father and son both taking a 5-wicket bag in test and one day cricket.

-In One-Day Internationals 16 5-wicket bags have been claimed. Sir Richard Hadlee took 5 of these. The best was 5-22 by M.N.Hart against the West Indies at Goa in 1994/95.

-The most economical 10 over spell in One-Day Internationals was by E.J.Chatfield against Sri Lanka at Dunedin in 1982/83. His figures read 10 overs, 4 maidens, 8 runs, 1 wicket.

-The most wickets in a single Test-Match innings is 9. This was achieved by Sir Richard Hadlee at the 'Gabba in 1985/86 where he took 9/52. Amazingly he took 6/71 in the 2nd innings to claim a New Zealand record match-haul of 15/123. He also smashed four 6's in a half century which contributed to New Zealands most complete Test-Match victory ever.

-Nathan Astle has scored the most hundreds in One-Day Internationals for New Zealand. He currently has 5, and the Test-Match record is held by Martin Crowe with 27.
