(After Bryn ties the horses, they begin to walk)

Bryn: Now, tell us about this gang of thieves.

Shirez: They arrived about three years ago, and took control of the countryside, menacing all that traveled out in the country.

(Doubar sees someone standing off in the distance, behind some rock)

Doubar: Is that someone over there?

Firouz: (checks with magniscope) There’s nothing there.

Sinbad: Let’s press on.

(They begin to walk again)

(Rongar is walking through the rocks, and he draws a dirk when he hears something; Dermott then lands on a rock in front of him, and he relaxes; Dermott flies off to get the crew)

(The crew is walking through the rock)

Doubar: This place looks like an ambush waiting to happen. What could Rongar have been thinking?

Bryn: It’s not what he’s thinking. It’s what he’s feeling.

Doubar: Either way, he’s headed for trouble.

Bryn: I don’t think it’s that simple.

Sinbad: You’re right. It’s something deeper inside of him.

(Dermott flies to them, and lands on Bryn’s arm)

Bryn: He’s seen Rongar.

(He flies off)

Sinbad: Come on!

(Two of Ali Rashid’s henchmen are walking through the rocks, when they see Rongar)

Man #1: Don’t move! (They hit Rongar on the head, and knocks him unconscious; one of them pick him up, and carries him) All right. Others are coming.

(They walk through the rock into a secret cave)

(The crew is walking through the rocks, when they come to the spot where Dermott saw Rongar; Sinbad picks up one of Rongar’s dirks, and Doubar bends down to the ground, and feels some liquid there)

Doubar: There’s blood on the ground here. It leads to that boulder. It stops.

Sinbad: Where’s Rongar, then?

(Ali Rashid is watching them, from within the secret cave)

Ali Rashid: Prince Rongar is right here. Right here.

Sinbad: Search the area. I’ll get some straight answers from this Zorah woman.

Shirez: I’ll go with you.

(They leave)

(Sinbad and Shirez make it back to the city)

Shirez: She’s in debt to debt to Ali Rashid. She could be lying, leading you into a trap.

Sinbad: That’s just a chance I’ll have to take.

(They enter Zorah’s house)

Sinbad: I need to know what you know. About Rongar. The Mountains of Caff. And this. (shows her the note)

Zorah: Shendara. It’s an ancient word in our culture.

Sinbad: Which means…?

Zorah: Allegiance. A commitment to one’s people.

Sinbad: What does this have to do with Rongar?

Zorah: Everything. It is Rongar’s burden. A burden that finally demands his retribution.

Sinbad: I don’t need riddles. I need answers.

Zorah: Ali Rashid plotted against Rongar.

Sinbad: For what purpose?

Zorah: Rongar had learned that Ali Rashid had posed as a merchant Prince on other wealthy islands. Over three-year cycles, he would gain power, take the land, and then disappear.

Sinbad: Rongar used this to unmask him?

Zorah: He tried to. But the thieves of Caff, secretly working for Ali Rashid, were spreading terror by then. Ali Rashid demanded that Rongar suppress them.

Sinbad: But he couldn’t.

Zorah: And then Ali Rashid accused Rongar of being in league with the thieves. This lie and his money turned the people. Rongar was forced into exile.

Sinbad: Rongar must have fought against this.

Zorah: At first. He lead a rebel band until a woman, his sister, betrayed him. She had fallen in love with Ali Rashid. He used her. Threatening to kill her unless Rongar surrendered himself. He did, and Ali Rashid cut out Rongar’s tongue, and banished him.

(The rest of the crew is looking for Rongar)

Bryn: Anything?

Firouz: Nothing.

Doubar: There’s got to be a reason why it just suddenly stops. (he puts his hands on the rock, and the doorway shows) Bryn! Firouz!

Firouz: (walks up to Doubar) What?

Doubar: That’s what. Any ideas?

Bryn: Just a dark feeling.

Doubar: It’s a passageway.

Firouz: Or a trap.

(The two men walk into the cave)

(Sinbad is still talking with Zorah; Shirez is also in the room)

Sinbad: What happened to the sister?

Zorah: She too felt the cutting edge of Ali Rashid’s cunning sword.

(She takes off the handkerchief on her face, and reveals the scar; Sinbad gasps)

Zorah: I was the keeper of Imras, the enchantress’s incantation. I sold them to Ali Rashid. He used them to enter the mountains of Caff, to retrieve Imras invincible weapon. The weapon he used on me.

Sinbad: What has he done with Rongar?

Zorah: I only know that he’ll be intent on making him suffer, and he’ll try to do the same to you, and your crew.

(Sinbad sighs and leaves)

Shirez: Ali Rashid will kill you for this.

Zorah: I told what needed to be told.

(Shirez leaves)

(Bryn enters the cave; Doubar and Firouz are tied up)

Bryn: Doubar! Firouz!

(Ali Rashid appears with the invincible weapon, which is a sword with fire as the blade; they battle, until he chops the blade off Bryn’s sword)

Ali Rashid: You must play the flame. In our place, the term mustang. Now where’s your Captain? (Bryn doesn’t answer) You think your silence will save him?

Bryn: You don’t need to find Sinbad. He’ll find you.

Ali Rashid: You know, I believe you’re right. I have my bait. Now I’ll set my trap.

(Sinbad is riding alone on horseback to the Mountains of Caff, when he sees Dermott land on a rock ahead of him)

Sinbad: Dermott! (he flies off) Okay.

(He sneaks up to one of Ali Rashid’s henchmen, and holds a sword up to his face)

Sinbad: Hi there. You’re going to guide me to your stronghold, or you’re going to have a hard time blowing your nose. Okay? (he takes the man’s sword) Good.

(The man takes him to the rock with the secret entrance)

Sinbad: What, is this some kind of joke?

(The man gets away from Sinbad and jumps into the entrance)

Sinbad: All in a day’s work. (he enters the cave; wanders for a bit, then sees Rongar, hanging upside-down by a rope) Rongar! (he runs over to him; he looks down and sees that if he cuts Rongar down, he’ll be landing on some spikes; that’s when some guards come) Come on, guys. I think this is over with you. (they fight) I have no time for this. (he fights some more; he sends one of the men down to the spikes) I guess he got the point. Okay, Rongar, we’ll find Ali Rashid, and send him to hell. (he cuts him down)

(Ali Rashid enters Seer’s house)

Ali Rashid: I need to talk with you. (he comes closer) I said, I need to talk with you.

(Zorah drew a knife, but Ali Rashid stopped her from stabbing him; he takes the knife)

Ali Rashid: You make a much better fortune teller then an assassin.

Zorah: Where’s Rongar?

Ali Rashid: I thought you were all-knowing.

Zorah: I told you far too much.

Ali Rashid: You’re always being very helpful. Why haven’t you warned Rongar of his fate?

Zorah: My love for you made me deny the truth.

Ali Rashid: I spared your brother. But he was warned. He was warned never to return. Now, he knew the terms. You knew the terms.

Zorah: And now you were forewarned. Death will come looking for you.

Ali Rashid: You curse me? No one curses Ali Rashid.

Zorah: It’s not a curse. It’s a prophecy.

Ali Rashid: I will find Rongar and Sinbad, and kill them. And come back and break your curses once and for all.

Zorah: But none of this will alter your future.

(Ali Rashid leaves)

(Ali Rashid is back in the cave, talking to Sinbad’s crew, who are all chained up)

Ali Rashid: Sinbad escaped my first trap…but if he doesn’t give himself up, one of you is going into my iron maiden where there’s all daggers. It’s just a matter of time, who goes first.

(Zorah is in her house, when she hears a knock at the door)

Zorah: Come in.

(The door opens, Zorah looks up, and is surprised to see her brother, Rongar)

Zorah: Rongar. Oh, my brother.

(They both are about to cry, and they hug)

Zorah: (after they pull apart) I’m so sorry. Please, Rongar. Forgive me. I’m sorry, Rongar. Forgive me, my brother. Forgive me. (she sobs a moment) Now you must go. Ali Rashid has your friends somewhere in the palace. Go rescue them. But be careful, my brother. Now go.

(Rongar goes to leave, but turns back one more time)

(Shirez is in her room, putting on some perfume; Sinbad comes in the window, startling her; she runs to him, and kisses him madly)

Sinbad: This will have to wait.

Shirez: Oh, must it?

Sinbad: (rolls eyes) I need to find my crew.

Shirez: (pulls away) That I can’t do. Ali Rashid has demanded that you give yourself up.

Sinbad: Where is my crew being held?

Shirez: I told you. I can’t help you.

(Rongar hops in the window)

Shirez: Rongar! He can’t be here! Do you know what Ali Rashid would do to me if he finds—

Sinbad: He’ll do nothing.

Shirez: Is that so? (turns to Rongar) Then I want you to tell me he can’t harm me. Go ahead. Tell me.

Sinbad: Shirez. We want Ali Rashid.

Shirez: Leave me alone.

Sinbad: Tell us, and maybe we’ll survive this. Shirez. He treats you like dirt. Dirt is swept away.

Shirez: They’re in the palace dungeon. I’ll take you there.

(They leave)

(Shirez, Sinbad, and Rongar come up to some guards, standing outside of the dungeon)

Sinbad: Are the new prisoners in there?

Guard: Who’s asking?

(Sinbad beats him up)

Sinbad: Me. (turns to Shirez) Stay here until I get back.

(They enter the room, where the crew is being held)

Doubar: Nice of you two to drop by.

Sinbad: Didn’t want to leave you hanging around with nothing to do.

Firouz: Good to see you, Rongar.

Bryn: Very good.

Sinbad: Have any idea where the manacle keys are?

Guard: (entering the room) Right here. This time, Sinbad, there’s no escape.

Sinbad: Well, hand them over.

(Sinbad and Rongar beat up the guards; Ali Rashid enters the room with Shirez, and pulls out his sword of fire; Rongar charges him, and is hit with the fire)

Sinbad: Rongar!

Firouz: Rongar!

Ali Rashid: Now it’s just me and you.

(Sinbad goes after him)

Firouz: Sinbad! Your sword’s useless against Imras’ flame!

Ali Rashid: Totally useless.

(They fight)

Doubar: Come on, Bryn! Do something!

Bryn: I don’t know if I can!

(Zorah enters)

Zorah: Bryn, Bryn. Join with me. Help me.

Ali Rashid: Which side of your face do you wanna lose first?

(They fight some more; Seer’s eyes shine bluish, while Bryn’s shine greenish; their eyes send out beams of light, which go and destroy the sword of fire)

Sinbad: A little too hot to handle.

(Ali Rashid runs up the steps, but Zorah shuts the door)

Ali Rashid: Open the door!

Zorah: There’s no one to set you free. Only my prophecy.

Ali Rashid: (grabs Shirez) Come with me. (runs down the stairs, but Sinbad is in his way, holding his saber) Drop the sword! (Sinbad does that; Ali Rashid runs the rest of the way down the stairs, and to the wall behind Bryn, where he pushes in a stone, and a secret door opens)

(Sinbad runs after them, but the door shut before he reached it; he shoves the wall, but it won’t budge)

Firouz: Push the stone to the left! No, the one above!

(Sinbad pushes it, and the door opens, and he is gone)

Zorah: (runs to Rongar) Come on. Come on. It is time for us to be free. Come on, Rongar. (Rongar gets up and runs to the door, where he pushes the stone, the door opens, and he is gone as well)

(Ali Rashid is dragging Shirez up a number of staircases; Sinbad is not too far behind, and Rongar isn’t too far behind him; Ali Rashid reaches some guards)

Ali Rashid: Kill anyone who follows.

(The guards draw their swords, and when Sinbad reaches them, he beats them up; Rongar later reaches them, and he kicks one of the guards that are on the ground; Sinbad finally catches up to Ali Rashid and Shirez; Ali Rashid lets go of Shirez, and runs up the stairs)

Shirez: I’m all right. Just don’t let him escape.

(Sinbad takes off after Ali Rashid, and Rongar soon passes Shirez; Sinbad traps Ali Rashid on a deck, where he’s blocking the only way out)

Sinbad: You’ve nowhere to go. See this for what it is.

Ali Rashid: What I see is your death.

(They fight for a minute; Rongar comes up, stops Ali Rashid from fighting Sinbad, and lifts him up over his head, and tosses him over the deck, to the rocks below)

Sinbad: It’s over.

(Zorah and Rongar are talking)

Zorah: I’m moving back to the palace. Our people want us. Need us. For me, it’s shendara, allegiance of one’s people. Do you forgive me? (Rongar nods) Will you stay with me?

(Bryn, Doubar, and Firouz are talking on the deck of the Nomad)

Bryn: What’s the delay?

Doubar: We still have a passenger on board.

Firouz: She’s getting a ship’s tour.

Bryn: Oh. If that’s what you call it.

(Sinbad and Shirez come out of the cabin; Sinbad’s arm is behind Shirez’s back; they walk up to the rest of the crew)

Shirez: I never knew that a ship’s (can’t make out this word here) could be so…exhilarating.

(Sinbad kisses her)

Shirez: Next time you’re in port?

Sinbad: You can count on it.

(He kisses her again, and she leaves the ship)

(Rongar comes on the ship)

Sinbad: Coming aboard?

(Rongar nods; Sinbad laughs)

Firouz: A Prince on the Nomad crew.

Bryn: Your sister’s a strong woman. She’ll rule your land well.

Sinbad: Let’s set sail. (walks over to the tiller)

(They set sail, to go on their next adventure)

THE END
