(The natives are carrying Bryn to the altar; she is dressed in a white gown, and she is struggling)
Zantax: Give her the elixir of the god.
(Zantax shoves the ladle of elixir towards Bryn, who kicks it away from her)
Bryn: Stay away! (she uses magic, to make the ground behind Zantax blow up)
(Two of the natives hold Bryn still, while they give her the elixir; she falls unconscious)
Zantax: This should extinguish her fire. Place her on the altar!
(The natives put her on the altar)
Zantax: The great Cayman!
(Sinbad and his crew are nearby, in the woods, on their way to the village)
(Cayman comes for the sacrifice)
(A horn sounds, and Sinbad and the crew hears it)
Doubar: What in blazes was that?
Sinbad: My guess, the dinner bell.
(They run towards the village; they see Bryn at the altar)
Sinbad: There’s still time.
Doubar: Your friend is out cold.
Firouz: That cauldron. Must be some sort of herbal sleeping potion they use to drug their victims.
Sinbad: Well, I have a potion of my own.
(He runs to the village; Cayman comes)
Sinbad: Firouz, do you have your exploding sticks?
Firouz: Ready and waiting.
Sinbad: Firouz, now.
Zantax: Rejoice with us, Cayman. We have brought you a sacrifice from a mysterious land.
(Sinbad and crew starts fighting with the natives; Sinbad eventually gets Zantax, and he holds his sword up to him)
Sinbad: Call your men off, or I’ll run your throat.
(Zantax holds up his arm to his men, and they stop)
Sinbad: Where’s that thing taking her? (Zantax doesn’t answer) We’re wasting time. Do I cut, or do you talk?
Zantax: Cayman has a cave on the Tara mountaintop. He’ll take her there. But you’re too late. No one on earth can subdue him.
Sinbad: I don’t plan to subdue him. I plan to kill him.
(Sinbad takes his sword away; Zantax falls to the ground; Sinbad leaves him there)
Sinbad: Firouz! How many of those sticks do you have left?
Firouz: A dozen or so.
Sinbad: I want you to remain here. Keep watch. If anything moves, blast it! Doubar, bring the longboats to this side of the island. Take half the men and scour the beach. We have to find Maeve and get out of here as soon as possible. (there is a long silence) Maeve’s alive. I know it.
Doubar: I’m sure she is, Sinbad.
Sinbad: Rongar, you, Hakeem, Bernardi, and Jakar, come with me. We’re going after that thing.
Firouz: With these, I have sleeping potion. I can fashion some sleeping gas.
Sinbad: Do whatever you have to do, but keep yourself safe. I’m depending on you. I’m depending on you all!
(Sinbad leaves them)
Doubar: (calls after Sinbad) If Maeve is out there, we’ll find her. Let’s use them.
Firouz: I’m looking forward to it. (he walks over to the cauldron, and begins to pick up things from the ground) It’s old Firouz…master of science…come up with arsenal...don’t mind if I do.
(Sinbad and the others are running through the woods)
Sinbad: This way.
(They come to a river, and they see Cayman)
Sinbad: He’s gonna cross.
(Rongar points to the river, and Sinbad sees a means of getting across the water)
Sinbad: He’s gonna cross, we’ll go across. (they walk over to the raft) Well, looks like it hasn’t been used in years. Feels steady enough. Let’s go!
(They all get on the raft)
Sinbad: All right, men. Pull! (they start to pull the rope, sending them across the river) Pull! Pull!
(Rongar stops because he hears something)
Sinbad: What’s wrong?
(Rongar is still; then suddenly, a fish jumps, and Rongar heaves a sigh of relief as the men laugh)
Sinbad: All right. Pull!
(Suddenly, a sea monster appears from the depths of the river, and the men jump from the raft)
Hakeem: Help! Captain Sinbad! Help! Help! Captain Sinbad!
Sinbad: Hakeem! Swim!
Hakeem: Captain Sinbad!
Sinbad: Hakeem!
(The sea monster eats Hakeem)
Jakar: Benardi! Run for it! Benardi
! Sinbad: Benardi!
Jakar: Benardi!
Benardi: Captain Sinbad!
Sinbad: Benardi!
Benardi: No! No! Let go! Help!
(The sea monster eats him)
Sinbad: Rongar, Jakar! Go back and help the others! If I’m not back before nightfall, leave without me! Get back to shore before he comes up again! It’s your only chance!
(Rongar and Jakar head for shore; Rongar is the only one of the two who make it to shore)
Jakar: Hey Rongar! Hey Rongar!
(Rongar picks up the other end of the rope that Jakar is holding on to, and begins to pull it)
Jakar: Oh! Oh! Hurry! Rongar! Hurry! Aaaaah! No!!!!
(The sea monster eats Jakar; Rongar falls backward, when the weight on the rope is gone; Sinabd is playing tug-of-war with Cayman, but then he gets pulled under water, but he floats back to the surface in the end; Cayman picks up Bryn from the tree that he left her on earlier; she screams; Sinbad gets out of the water and waves to Rongar, who waves back)
Sinbad: Rongar! Go into the village! The village!
(Rongar leaves; Sinbad cuts the rope into a smaller piece, and rolls it up, and flings it on his shoulder and heads off to rescue Bryn)
Sinbad: Hang on, Bryn. Hang on.
(Cayman takes Bryn to his cave; Bryn screams; Sinbad sees them)
Bryn: Sinbad!
(Bryn screams again)
Bryn: Help!
(Sinbad comes to the base of the rock mountain the Cayman climbed)
Sinbad: Well, it can’t be that hard to get up there. (he comes to some skeletons) Well, maybe for some people. (he picks up a spear and a shield and takes them with him; he walks among the skeletons) Sorry. Excuse me.
(Rongar arrives at the village; Firouz is above, on the stand where the natives blew the horns)
Firouz: Rongar! Up here! (Rongar looks up) What happened? (Rongar makes a sign that a sea monster attacked them) And the others? Are they okay? (Rongar shakes his head) Sinbad? (Rongar makes the sign that he is okay) He’ll come through. Go find Doubar. I’ll be fine up here. (Rongar turns to leave, but then turns back) I’ll be fine. (Rongar leaves him) Or at least I’ll go out in a bang.
(Sinbad is climbing the mountain)
(Bryn is in the cave, Cayman is about to eat her)
Bryn: Go ahead. Have fun. I’m not going to be one of your permanent guests! (she takes off the robe she was wearing and picks up a large stone and holds it over her head) I’m warning you!
(Some stones are thrown into the cave)
Sinbad: Bryn! Get out now!
(She puts down the stone, and runs out; Cayman comes out to see what is out there)
Sinbad: Gotcha, Snake Eyes.
(Sinbad ropes him)
(Bryn joins Sinbad outside)
Sinbad: Bryn! Time to go!
(They run, until they reach a hill; Sinbad looks at the shield he still held in his hand, and puts it on the ground; he draws his sword)
Sinbad: Get on. (he sits down after she does) Hold on.
(He pushes them down the path on the shield, using his sword to push away any branches)
(At the bottom, they fall off the shield)
Sinbad: He’s coming after us! Come on!
(They take off running)
Sinbad: Come on! Go!
(They are running along the edge of a river, and the sea monster snaps at them from their right; they run into the others)
Doubar: Sinbad!
Sinbad: We’re okay.
Doubar: We’ve got the longboats moored over by the village.
Sinbad: I think it’s time we used them. Come on!
(They run to the beach)
(Firouz is still sitting up on the stand, when a spear comes his way)
Firouz: Great. (he gets down) Come on! Come on!
(The natives attack Firouz and the rest of the crew)
Sinbad: Firouz!
(They fight the natives for a while; Firouz sets some exploding sticks on fire and puts them on the ground)
Sinbad: Firouz! Let’s go!
Firouz: Just leaving a token of my appreciation. (Sinbad grabs him, to pull him to run with them) Be careful! These bags are filled with sleeping gas!
Sinbad: We’re all gonna be sleeping for good if we don’t get moving!
(They begin to run again)
(Firouz stops a second and puts more exploding sticks on the ground)
Doubar: (turns around, and pulls Firouz) Come on, genius!
(They run together)
(Cayman goes up to Zantax)
Zantax: It’s not our fault!
(Cayman kills Zantax)
(The crew makes it to the beach and the longboats)
Sinbad: Come on! Firouz! Use the gas!
Firouz: It’s too…it’s too windy. We’d all be knocked out.
Sinbad: Scatter them on the beach, then.
(As everyone gets on the longboats, Firouz spreads the sleeping gas around on the beach; they all get into the longboats and head out to the Nomad)
Doubar: Can that thing swim?
Sinbad: We’re about to find out.
(Cayman steps on the sleeping gas)
Sinbad: Let’s pray the gas stops him.
(Cayman falls; everyone cheers; Sinbad looks at Bryn)
(The crew is on the Nomad; Sinbad is the last to climb aboard)
Sinbad: Doubar? Maeve?
Doubar: This is all we found. (he shows Sinbad Maeve’s gauntlet)
Sinbad: (takes the gauntlet) No. She’s still alive. I know it.
Doubar: There’s no sign of Dermott, either.
(Sinbad walks away from them; the others watch on; he puts his hand to his head and frowns; then he looks out to sea)
Sinbad: Never had the chance to say goodbye, Maeve. Say how much I care.
Dim-Dim: Maeve is safe, Sinbad. Alive and well.
Sinbad: Master Dim-Dim!
Dim-Dim: The curse I’m under prevents me from being here in all but spirit.
Sinbad: Maeve?
Dim-Dim: The forces of darkness are growing too strongly, Sinbad. Rumina would have killed Maeve before her time. She is safe under my protection. Until she has mastered the art of white magic.
Sinbad: Wait!
Dim-Dim: Fight the dark powers, Sinbad. You will find Bryn a powerful asset in your travels.
(They all turn to Bryn)
Bryn: I don’t understand any of this.
(Dermott lands on Bryn’s bracelet)
Sinbad: That’s Dermott. Maeve’s hawk.
(Bryn walks off with Dermott)
Sinbad: Everything has its purpose. Let’s set sail. (he goes to the tiller and takes it) Until we meet again, Maeve. Until we meet again.
THE END
