CATFISHES

A picture of a Pictus Catfish Catfishes are Egglayers. They have whiskers, just like cats, and that's how they got their name. But not all fish with whiskers are Catfish. Catfishes are found almost universally where other fishes exist, and they show many adaptions that are found in almost no other fishes. Some Catfish swim upside down at times. Catfishes as a rule are very hardy and adaptable. Most are nocturnal and do best in subdued light.
