Knife-Edged Livebearer
This fish needs water temperature between 75 and 82F. The male grows maximum to 6cm. The female grows maximum to 8 cm. This fish likes to eat live foods of all kinds, and flake food. This fish is a Livebearer. This fish will usually swim in the middle and the bottom of the tank. This fish lives in Central America, from Nicaragua through Costa Rica to west Panama, in clear creeks and streams of the Atlantic drainage. The male is different from the female because he has a gonopodium and elongated ventral fins which serve to stimulate the head region of the female during pairing rituals. The female has 10 to 30 young every time she has kids, who are about 8 mm long (5/16"). The young should be fed small live food. The aquarium should be about 70 cm in length. These fish are hard to keep.
