     Youngest of three sons born to a moneychanger in the town of 
     Rudes-heim (Germany?). Eldest brother refused to share the inheritance 
     with his younger two brothers. The brothers, Otto and Beringar, found 
     work in a Landesknecht regiment serving Emperor Charles V in Italy. 
     Otto later made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Beringar followed and 
     there met Sir Rustam, who later took him on as squire.
