There was once a girl with a mind so fantastic that it
became empty. She was so full of words and thoughts and ideas that
in the end she became a void. A beautiful void. Her words flew off
of the page and planted themselves like little seeds in other people's minds.
She became a well of knowledge - her eyes reflected other people's
souls and her thoughts were mirrors of the world's emotions. She gave
herself to the world through her words and her ideas, and in doing so
she became full to over-flowing. She was both empty and full at the
same time. She was Herself and she was all of humanity.
She was the Beautiful Void.
I believe that there is a piece of her within each of us. There is a
spark of beauty, of creativity. There is the void that is left when
you give of yourself and your mind, and the fullness that comes with
knowing that you have given the best part of you. I want to be able
to say that I was a beautiful void, and for that reason I have started
this - The Beautiful Void. If you believe that you or your site reflects
your Self, and that it is beautiful, please, feel free to apply for the
membership.
You do not need to have a webpage, however, you do need to have an e-mail
address, and you need to be able to articulate to me why you are beautiful.
You do not need to convince me of your beauty, I know that it is there.
I know that everyone possesses that spark, that is not being questioned.
I need only for you to be able to articulate why. Tell me what you
see when you look in the mirror. Tell me what you see when you reread
your own words.
Please do not tell me what other people say about you, don't tell me
how other people see you - I am not interested in that. I am interested
in you and your own personal beauty.
There are two parts to The Beautiful Void, the webring and an award. I
wanted to offer an award because there are sites out there that have
touched me deeply and that I consider to be truly beautiful. If you
think that your site deserves the award, apply for it. If you think
your site belongs in the webring, apply for it.
There is only one rule, I will not ever consider sites that are full
of blatant hatred or prejudice. That is not beautiful.
