Dolls

An example of a doll in another "virtual" doll muman from Kirghiz (or Kirghizstan), a territory between China and the Soviet Union. He's an odd looking little doll with an impish face of molded stockinet with painted features. His head is topped with a pointed hat made of taupe colored flannel called a "kalpac". The flaps of the hat split at the front and back. He wears a long brown flannel robe called a "dolman" which folds over and is held in place with a multi-colored sash. The sleeves are longer than his arms. From under his robe his pointy boots show and they are carved from wood and stained orange. He wears pants that appear to be tucked into the wooden boots and there is a little label that reads, "Made in Soviet Union, Kirquiz". He stands eight inches tall and was made in the 1940'sseum
