James (Jim)Conry

(12 January 1856 - 13 March 1934)
Jim Conry was the oldest child of Dan and Frances Conry. He was a miner during his younger manhood, but later bought his father's homeplace in Pelham Valley and farmed the rest of his life.

He had ten children, eight of whom lived to adulthood. His oldest son, Mike, and his son-in-law, Ernest Willis served in WWI. His youngest son, Buford, and four grandsons, Edgar Gunn, Jamie Goodman, Mike Emmette, and Ralph Goodman served in WWII, and grandson, Buford, Jr. in Vietnam.

Two of his daughters, Minnie Frances and Margaret (Mag) married and settled in Oklahoma.

Jessie Mae, his seventh child, was a very talented artist.

It is said of Jim Conry, if he gave his word you did not need any other security for he always did as he promised.
