SHORT HISTORY


    Saint Peter's Unity Secondary School Akure came into being in September 1985, following the abolition of the Old St Peter's Teachers College. As it would be remembered, 1985 witnessed the phasing out of all ELEVEN teachers college in the state by then military Government. As a result of the policy to make the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) the least teaching qualification in the state. Nine of the Teacher's college metamorphosed into State Unity Secondary Schools. The schools were designed to be model schools, to serve as a center of educational excellence and to help forge a united Ondo State. The school was designed to be the best system of Boarding School in the western region. Due to the fervency of the government to the school, the school attained an ubiquitous status in Ondo state and all around the neighouring states.
