Chapter 46
"Ok guys, enough with the brownies. Let's play some video games," Zac
said after he had finished his brownies. "You ate all those brownies
already? Gosh, who's the pig now?" Beth said to Zac. "I don't know,
Tay still?" Zac asked. "No, I think you are. You both had three
brownies, Tay's on his second and you're finished," Beth said. "Hey,
at least I'm not the pig!" Taylor said relieved. "Gosh, who cares
about the brownies? I'll be the pig!" Isaac said, irritated with
everyone's arguing. "I'm going to get some sodas, does anybody want
anything?" "Me," everyone yelled. "I hope you all want Dr. Pepper,
because that's what you're getting!" Isaac told them. "Fine with me,"
Kate said. Isaac went into the kitchen to grab the sodas. "Where do
you think you're going with all of those?" Diana asked. "In the living
room," Isaac replied. "Oh no you're no. It's almost 9 o'clock," "So
what's you're point?" "My point is, I don't want anyone drinking pop
this late at night," Diana replied. "This late at night?! Come on Mom,
just this once?" Isaac pleaded giving Diana a puppy face. "You know I
hate that face, but ok just this once. Now be sure you're in bed in
two hours," "Yeah, ok Mom," Isaac said as he walked into the living
room caring six cans of pop. As he walked in everyone had found a
comfortable place to sit. Taylor and Beth were on the love seat. Zac
and Kate were taking up the whole couch. Kristin was sitting on the
recliner. Isaac handed a pop to everyone then said, "Where am I going
to sit?" "I don't know. On the floor? Just be quiet," Zac said. "Ok,
ok. What are we watching anyway?" Isaac asked. "Beavis and Butthead Do
America," Kristin answered. "Cool, where'd we get that?" "Oh, it was
my brother's. I brought back with me, I just forgot about it until
now," Kate answered. They watched the movie in silence except for a
little whispering and giggling ever so often. After it was over, Isaac
said in his Butthead voice, "That was cool, let's go get us some
chicks." Everyone started laughing because he sounded just like
Butthead. All six talked for about a half hour. "Hey, let's play Catch
Phrase," Kristin suggested. "Ok," everyone agreed. Kate was looking at
her card, "Hey, this reminds me of last year in math." Beth's eyes got
wide. She jumped off the couch and ran over to Kate."Please, don't
tell them! You and Kristin already know, isn't that enough? Please,
don't tell them. They don't need to know," Beth pleaded. "Tell us
what?" Zac asked confused. "Nothing! She's not going to tell you
anything!" Beth screamed before Kate could get a word out. Taylor got
up, grabbed her by the waist, and pulled her back down on couch."Shut
up and sit down!" he said holding her mouth shut. "Um, I don't think
you should do that," Kristin said trying to warn Taylor of what she
knew Beth was trying to say. Taylor just ignored the two and kept
pressing his hand harder against her mouth. Finally Beth gave up with
warning Taylor and just bit him. "I told you shouldn't do that,"
Kristin said trying not to laugh. "Gol darn you! That hurt! Why didn't
you warn me?" Taylor said shaking his hand. "Where'd you leave your
brain? I was trying to warn you, but it was kinda hard with your hand
pressed up to my mouth!" Beth yelled. "Sorry," Taylor said
sarcastically. "Now Kate, what were you about to tell us?" Zac asked
eagerly as Beth started whining. Kate ignored Beth and told the boys
the story. "Once in math last year, the teacher handed back a test.
Beth got a C, so she called him an idiot. He heard it and turned
around and gave Beth a really dirty look. Then another time, Beth
wrote something on the back of her paper. She forgot about it and
turned her paper in. The next day, Mr. Ratliff called Beth up to his
desk and said, 'You got an A+ on this test, but tell me why I
shouldn't give you an F,' so Beth said, 'Because I got an A+,' Mr.
Ratliff said, 'Take a look at the back,' Then Beth remembered she had
wrote on the back of her paper. It said, 'I used to like math, until I
had Mr. Ratliff, now I hate it.'" "I can't believe you never got
detention in that class!" Kristin exclaimed laughing. "You are so
disrespectful to teachers," Taylor said. "Not all teachers, just to
Mr. Ratliff. If you ever knew him, you'd feel the same way! He
deserved it!" Beth answered. "Still, you should always have respect,"
Isaac added. "You just say that because you've only had your mom as a
teacher," Beth answered as Zac was rolling around on the floor
laughing. "You are so mean!" He said through his laughter. "Taylor,
Isaac, we can tell you stories to change you're mind!" Beth was going
on about all the things he had done, until she was interrupted by
Isaac. "Ok, maybe he did deserve it."
