About My Basset Hounds

My husband and I got our first Basset Hound in Dec. 1992(he was a Christmas present from my husband). BEETHOVEN, is his name and was named after the movie "Beethoven" because from day one he got into everything and tried to chew up everything he could find. So May 1993 we got BEETHOVEN a girlfriend and her name is ANNIE. We were hoping that the problem we were having with him was he had no other Basset Hound to play with(we do think if you get a Basset hound you get 2 at one time or at least have another dog around)and that was it. BEETHOVEN & ANNIE became boyfriend and girlfriend and let me tell you to this day they cannot be apart without them getting depressed(they both refuse to eat or sleep when they are apart). ANNIE, is the quite one but she can fool you real fast. ANNIE, is the one that looks so innocent while knowing she is the one that chewed up the tree while I am scolding BEETHOVEN. And, our last Basset Hound is PATTY-CAKE she is BEETHOVEN's daughter(Annie is not her mother). One of our neighbors gave us PATTY-CAKE's Mom(Maggie)and her and BEETHOVEN had puppies. We kept PATTY-CAKE and give her Mom away to a friend who loved her to death and wanted her from day one. PAATY-CAKE is our baby and will always be our baby Basset Hound and PATTY-CKE will tell you that real fast too. PATTY-CAKE requires a lot of attention and I mean she requires a lot of attention. PATTY-CAKE is a Basset Hound that has to be held from the time she sees you and also you have to give her your told attention or she will just talk and talk and talk to you until she gets it. So this is my Basset Hound family and go check out BOBBY he is a Rat Terrier and our Basset Hounds just love him to death. PATTY-CAKE thinks wherever BOBBY goes she has to be right with him because that is PATTY-CAKES buddy.
