Lou Rawls as Lou Raymond


In his first series, Rou Rawls portrayed Lou Raymond, the original owner of the blues club 'Nights,' landlord and buddy to the detectives in 'Baywatch Nights.' He knew everyone and everyone knew him. People came from all over just to hear him sing or listen to his friends play.

Lou has appeared on TV shows as a guest and in commercials. In the early 60's, he made appearances on hit shows as '77 Sunset Strip,' and 'The Big Valley' (Barbara Stanwyk). In the 70's on 'Fantasy Island' (Ricardo Montalban) and 'Mannix.' Later in the 80's, he appeared on 'The Fall Guy' (Lee Majors, Heather Thomas) and 'Hunter.'

He also co-starred with Danny Glover and Tom Hulce in the 'John Henry' episode of 'Shelly Duvall's Tall Tales and Legends.' In 1991, he starred in the pilot 'Saturdays' (ABC). His feature films include 'Lookin' Italian.' He also appeared in 'Leaving Las Vegas' (Nicolas Cage, Elisabeth Shue).

Lou performs in hundred of concerts each year including Military bases. He won the first of his four Grammy Awards for the album, 'Dead End Street.' His other Grammies were awarded in 1971, 1976, and 1977.

He does lot of charity work for 'The United Negro College Fund' and has raised more than $150 million dollars for the organization with the 'Lou Rawls Parade of Stars' telethon and the 'Lou Rawls Celebrity Gold Tournament.'
