WLOSZCZOWA, POLAND - THE GOOD LIFE.

This is the small town of Wloszczowa, that counts about 11,000 citizens, 30% of whom are from jewish origin. There is a synagogue,a cemetery,a market, small wooden houses, there are farms around, yidish is spoken in the markets, it is a small "Shteitle" (place). My family arrived from Latvia on my grandfather's side, and from Grodno on my grandmother's side.Actually they left Grodno in 1882 and reside in Warsaw. My grandfather, who was a lawyer, became the tax commissioner for the Radom-Kielce district and choose to live in Wloszczowa for several years. In the middle picture you can see the synagogue of Przedborz about 30 km. from Wloszczowa. From the 4,000 Jews of Wloszczowa, only few survived, the Nazis, with one transport, directed the jews to Treblinka. My family lived in Ulica Kilinskiego no. 13 in Wloszczowa. The album with the pictures was given to my father, after the war from a Polish family which took care of it, and some other personal items.
