"Well, it started with WHITE SQUALL... if there were an Oscar catagory for "Best Cameo" it would be him! Then there was that ugly chocolate stained mouth performance in NOWHERE (one of the worst movies ever made!)BUT- was there any doubt that "a star was semi-born" in I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER?? He was the only reason to see it! There were some other "slight" performances in-between - butRyan Phillippe BECAME a STAR in 54. It's just impossible to give a more star-grabbing performance than this!!! Ryan Phillippe (so far, anyway) IS 54!! It's about him- he brings the whole film to life!! :-) He's a great actor - kind of underplays (which is good.) You are watching his performance when suddenly it occurs to you- THIS guy is going to be be a MAJOR MAJOR star!! And he deserves it- he's worked hard for it! Mr."little parts" here and there finally has his own movie!!! :-) I have seen ads for a film called LITTLE BOY BLUE- but I've never seen it show up in Dallas!!
