Refrigerator Magnets
This craft makes a great gift for parents, grandparents and others who need magnets to display artwork on their refrigerators.
- Make clay using:
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup glue
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
- Mix the clay by hand until it is soft. Then roll it out with a rolling pin and cut it into fun shapes using small cookie cutters.
- Place shapes on a cookie pan so they will dry flat. Allow the shapes to dry overnight.
- Check the backs to make sure they are completely dry, then paint.
- Cut magnetic tape into 1 inch pieces and glue to the back of the shapes. Larger shapes will require two or more pieces of magnetic tape.
- This recipe also makes nice Christmas ornaments. Use Christmas cookie cutters. Remember to poke a hole near the top before the ornament dries!
