Refrigerator Magnets

This craft makes a great gift for parents, grandparents and others who need magnets to display artwork on their refrigerators.

  1. Make clay using:
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup glue
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
  1. Mix the clay by hand until it is soft. Then roll it out with a rolling pin and cut it into fun shapes using small cookie cutters.
  2. Place shapes on a cookie pan so they will dry flat. Allow the shapes to dry overnight.
  3. Check the backs to make sure they are completely dry, then paint.
  4. Cut magnetic tape into 1 inch pieces and glue to the back of the shapes. Larger shapes will require two or more pieces of magnetic tape.
  5. This recipe also makes nice Christmas ornaments. Use Christmas cookie cutters. Remember to poke a hole near the top before the ornament dries!
