* A WALK DOWN THE BEACH *

A Walk Down The Beach

I've always enjoyed walking down the beach,
And gazing at stars as they are out of reach.
The water is always washing against the rocks,
While violently splashing against the docks.
The rocks never move, so the water splashes over,
To replenish the grounds with grass and clover.
I was taking a walk along the shore one day,
When a shadow moved in and blocked my way.
I tried to walk in another direction,
But ran into the same reflection.
Suddenly, I began to lose my sight,
The day became dark instead of bright.
I became deaf to the ocean waves,
And felt as if I was in unknown caves.
My legs were aching, and I became quite sore,
The sands I no longer wanted to explore.
I lost my desire to wait on the tide,
As my arms hung heavily down by each side.
I leaned back against two small boulders,
Hoping it would relieve some weight off my shoulders.
Night was falling, and I was losing my way,
What could I do but begin to pray.
Then I realized that I hadn't even asked,
The Lord above to take care of this task.
Suddenly the sun was shining thru'
And a voice whispered I'll take care of you.
If we place our faith and trust in God,
He will guide the daily paths we trod.
The next walk that I take down the beach,
My God will definitely be in reach.
He calmed my fears, and gave me peace,
And covered me with warmth like fleece.
He opened my eyes that I might see,
And restored my hearing and strength for me.
There is always a rainbow at the end of the way,
To give us peace while crossing the bay.
So, when life's seashore comes to an end,
I'll happily realize I've only approached a bend.
For the last walk I take along the sandy shore,
Will be a happy walk forevermore.
Because he gave me a hope of perfect health,
Which means more to me than fortune or wealth.
