FFVII Chocobo

Most of you already know a lot about chocobos since you played the Final Fantasy game. Ok the FF7 chocobo look like that animal above and of course you gotta breed it to get a better chocobo, right? To breed, you gotta go through the racing bit. But how to do it? Don't worry it's all here, remember?

Chocobo Breeding

When you got the World Map (in Disc2), you could start breeding chocobo. I like chocobos a lot and I don't know why. You won't get attack by monsters if you're on a chocobo, and different colors can cross through different types of land.,p> There are normal chocobo, blue chocobo, green chocobo, black chocobo, and the greatest one, the gold chocobo. Blue chocobo can cross shallow waters, green chocobos can cross mountains, and black chocobos can cross both mountains and waters. Gold chocobo, as I say it's the greatest, can cross anywhere on the map!

You'll need to steal 3 carob nuts from a monster around Chocobo Sage's home or in the green area before the Bone Village up in the north. Circle around in the area until you meet a monster that looks like a red dragon named 'Vlakorados'. You also need to fight a Goblin who's wearing punching gloves. He is found in a forest on a island Northeast of the First Continent. Don't get it mixed up with the uncharted island.It is the one where u could see little islands on the north with half forest, half grass. You win the zeio nut after defeating them.

First, prepare around 60000 gils, you need at least 260000 in total. Go to the Chocobo Farm and buy 6 of the chocobo stalls they have. (10000 gils each)

Go to the tracks near the Gold Saucer and you'll have to catch the walking chocobos there.

Go back to the Chocobo Farm and save your game outside the Chocobo Farm and then go inside to the barn and talk to the small kid. You'll be given the options:

Options> Buy Get some Infomation Moving Chocobos Feeding Chocobos Mating Chocobos Releasing Chocobos Riding Chocobos Do Nothing

Description buy some greens to feed your chocobos get some infomation about chocobos move the chocobos in the fence to the stall feeding the chocobos greens mate the chocobos to have a new chocobo kick out some chocobos that you're done with :( ride a chocobo outside needless to say, don't do anything

Choose moving chocobos' and make sure that it is a 'good chocobo' and its gender should be male. If it is not, then restart and do it again until you got it. Be sure to save your game.

Here are the types of Chocobos

Type bad poor average above average good great wonderful

Saying "I can't recommend this one" "This one doesn't seem to be very good" "This is a pretty average chocobo" "Mmm, this one's not bad" "Mmm, this seems like a good chocobo" "This is a great chocobo" "This..this is a wonderful chocobo"

Then go to the tracks near Mideel located on the Southern Continent. Catch the running chocobos there and do the upper process again. Make sure that it is a 'great chocobo' and its gender should be female. When you have the correct chocobo, talk to the small kid and choose 'mating chocobo.' When you mate them, give them the carob nut and it should be a green or blue chocobo or else, press L1+L2+R1+R2+start+select to restart and do it again. Be sure to remember the color and gender. It'll be better if you write it down and save you game.

Now you have to do it in reverse. It'll be a female walking chocobo (make sure it's 'good')and a male running chocobo (make sure it's 'great'). Save yout game too.

Mate them. Do you remember the color and gender you have before? It should be a different color and gender.

Most people have a lot of problem trying to breed blue chocobos. I too, have that problem. So I race one of the chocobo to S class and the other to A class and I got the blue chocobo easily.

Buy 20 Silkis Greens and feed 10 each to the green and blue chocobo. It'll increase the stamina, speed and intellegience of each chocobo highly.

(This step is not necessary, but it's better to do it)Go to the Gold Saucer and race the two chocobo with the others until you get to at least class A or S.

When the chocobos are ready to mate (around 2 hours or so), save you game and mate them using the carob nut. You should get a black chocobo or else...I think you know what to do.

Now go to the tracks near the Icicles Village and catch the dashing chocobo. Go back to the farm and save. Make sure it is a 'wonderful chocobo' or else you gotta restart.

Save your game and mate the black chocobo and the dashing chocobo using the ZEIO nut. (don't use the wrong nut)And you should get the greatest Gold Chocobo or else..........

Chocobo Races

Racing chocobos at the chocobo is important when you are breeding the chocobos. It is easy if you do what you are told to do. You could easily win the race and other prizes too!

Get some good nut like the Silkis Greens and feed the chocobos. That would greatly increase the staminia, and speed but it is very expensive. Go to the Gold Saucer and race the chocobo. One of them has to be at least class A and the other at class B. If you want a certain gender, I suggest you race them all to A or S. If you don't have enough speed, feed them some more of the greens.

There are many great prizes you could win at the Gold Saucer. If Tifa is in your party, she may ask to ride the chocobo. When your chocobo got to S class, you could still race him. If you keep racing the chocobo, after five or more rounds, Ester (the manager) will tell you that she never seen and S class chocobos get to win so many times expect for Joe. So she'll give you some gifts including chocobraclet, sprint shoes, counter materia, and many more. So juz spend some time racing them and win great stuff from the race!
