Carmilla Remembers

"10050 Cielo Drive"
Copyright 1999 Carmilla Pilant

I tryed to channel Sharon late last night
Sitting by a spinning psychedelic light
It was a late 60's music seance atmosphere
Hendrix and Morrison were playing there

Looking at her picture in a book I slouched
Facing the fireplace, my back to the couch
It was just after midnight when the pretty light went out

An eerie chill crept up my spine
Like a killer on a phone poll to cut the line
I tryed to gather courage but grew totally afraid
Didn't quite make it when I tryed to be brave
Was this coincidence, or a sign from beyond the grave?

Sharon are you there?
Sharon is it time?
Sharon are you here?
Sharon are you mine?

Let me take you back to August 1969
Benedict Canyon and a maniacal crime
Where five beautiful people horribly died
At 10050 Cielo Drive

She was thinking about her baby
Pleading for its life
She was crying for her mother on the killers knife
Wondering why these intruders were so filled with hate
And what had she done to deserve this fate

14 chairs minus 1, and 30 years on, her ghost remains
Her Benedict Canyon "Love House" is gone
But not the stain of her loss
On us.

This poem is truly amazing, it sent chills up my spine when I read it. Wonderful writing skill Carmilla!
