Transcript from Radio Interview

Interviewer: With us is Ben from silverchair on the phone. Hello.

Ben: Hello.

Interviewer: How was Harvey Bay? I heard it go a bit hot.

Ben: Yeah it was bloody hot, possibly the hottest gig we've ever played.

Interviewer: Like can you describe the scene on how you felt while you were playing at Harvey Bay.

Ben:Umm, it basically felt like a sauna like we were playing inside a sauna with a lot of clothes, like you know you usually go inside there with cogs or something on you know like a lot of clothed people in a sauna. That's it.

Interviewer: It was , was it actually inside a room, it wasn't outside in an auditorium kind of setting?

Ben: Oh no. It was a hot sweaty pub gig, that's what it was.

Interviewer: A bit like the Freak clip.

Ben: Yep, yep exactly

Interviewer: Probably the word to sdescribe it. You had a day off yesterday. You went to the Gold Coast how was that?

Ben: It was a lot of fun actually. We layed around the pool all day and , um, went to the beach and , um yeah and we went to sizzler for tea the night before which was pretty cool.

Interviewer: Hey big international rock stars don't go to sizzler.

Ben:Yeah that's why we went there.

Interviewer: I knew you'd say that. Ok so tonight you got the River Stage gig.

Ben: Yep

Interviewer:Now that sounds cool. How's it looking have you been out there yet? Have a look?

Ben: I have. I watched a bit of Something for Kate and um after this phone call I'm going to check out a bit of Magic Dirt, but um yeah other than that it looks really cool.

Interviewer: And you've got the Gold Coast gig tomorrow with the Offspring.

Ben: Yep

Interviewer: Now that's going to be out of control

Ben: I think, yeah. I'm thinking a pretty good gig for that one too.

Interviewer: Cus it's the end of schoolies, I think, tomorrow.

Ben: Is it?

Interviewer: Yeah.

Ben: I wouldn't know. We didn't have the opportunity to go to school.

Interviewer: I know you had to go and work.

Ben: I know it sucks but you know. But still I wouldn't you know I wouldn't knock back down on an national tour though.

Interviewer: Cool. Ok well this is probably the last time I'm ever going to talk to you at nights Ben.

Ben: Why's that you moving?

Interviewer: It's my last show. I got afternoons Monday.

Ben: Are you really?

Interviewer: yeah

Ben: Is that a good or a bad thing?

Interviewer: It's great. I get my nights back after four years.

Ben: Right

Interviewer: So this is probably the last time we'll chat on this show. I was going to play my favorite song from Freak Show, Pop Song For Us Rejects.

Ben: Oh that's your favorite song huh?

Interviewer: Yeah I love it.

Ben: That's my least favorite

Interviewer: Is it?

Ben: Yeah.

Interviewer: Ha ha, Well there we go. We always see eye to eye Ben

Ben: Can't we play like No Associatioin or something.

Interviewer: Oh ok

Ben: Oh you don't have to...

Interviewer: No no you get your own way. Here it is Ben, have a good show tonight

Ben: Oh cool

Interviewer: And we'll catch up sometime later

Ben: aw thanks

Interviewer: see ya

Ben: see ya
