| ![]() Resources for Women and Families Each state in the U.S. has agencies whose primary purpose is to help women just like you. If you find yourself in some sort of trouble where you need advice, personal or legal council or protection, or shelter- by all means, please seek out a local agancy to assist you. Some offer free or low cost legal consultation, day care assistance or funds, shelters and homes for battered women and their children, training programs, alcohol or drug rehabilitation systems, rape prevention courses, assistance to assaulted or molested women or children- even hotlines to counsel on personal issues. Some of these resources can be found through a local college or community or vocational school. Most are in the Yellow Pages of your local phone book. I have listed some of the Web Resources that might be helpful, as well as some National organizations that might be found off the Web. There is a limit to how much any agency can help- you must be willing to help yourself, also. No one is going to "go to bat" for you unless you are willing to do at least some of the work for yourself. There is no shame in asking for help in a difficult situation, especially where your health and safety or the health and safety of your children is at risk. IndigoICQ 6259402
