Christmas; Where did it come from, and Where is it Going?

This site starts out by setting the festive season of Christmas and the world of consumerism.

From early November to December, festive decorations and advertising set the scene of Christmas.

This site is interesting because it sets out the history of of Christmas through writingism rituals. An example of tyhis is post cards and Christmas cards.

This site begins in 400 A.D, and questions where Chirstmas is situated in the 1990's and beyond.

The site also explores the history of Santa Claus. It is based on the real person of Saint Nicholas, a Christian leader from Myra (modern day Turkey). This particular set in the site is centered around the Fourth Century A.D. If one wants to find out what this leader did to earn the name 'Santa Claus' click on the site address. This page covers other aspects of Christmas, such as Boxing Day, and other Christian denominations.

The site's main theme asks the question; 'What do you want from Christmas?' Many people are looking beyond the consumerism, and other people are using Christmas to explore what festivals meant to other people in history.

This site has what is called a problem page. The page disscusses such subjects as christmas can be a time of debt, stress, lonliness, and even suicide.

Finally this site tells the real meaning of Christmas found in Christian scripture, starting with the angel appearing to Mary, to the birth of Jesus Christ.
