June 12
Dear Mother all well. Lots of rain river up. I went to Jeffers yesterday and drove down to the water across the road then I had back up and to turn & cross down by Edd’s.
Some clever chap was in our corn last night, left the drive way door to crib up & Kit & Rob got another square meal. Our corn is being carried off all the time.
Had a letter from Elsie but don’t know where to address her now
write soon will have to quit.
Alma

I don't know if Aunt Annie(Alma)could drive a car or if she is talking about driving a wagon or buggy? After they moved to Arkansas my mother speaks of the time my daddy borrowed his uncle’s(Alma's husband Oscar) car so he could keep a date to pick her up from work.
The reason that Alma did not know where to send her sister Elsie a card Elsie had just got married. Elsie had changed her address she only moved less than 1/2 mile down the road from her parents . The mail had to be picked up in town at the Post Office. If Alma had addressed it to Mrs. George Raborn, Carlisle, Arkansas I am sure she would of got the card. Times were so much simpler, no Zip code and the postmaster knew the Raborn family. (Elsie and George were my Grandparents)

(top Right side of message space) Is Harlan still in Arkansas?

Alma seems to get the most out of her penny postcard.
I don't know John H.
Maude and W. is her sister and her husband Walter Timmons.
Cy (Cyrus) is a older brother.
By John's I think she is speaking of her brother-in-law John and her sister Sarah Alice's family(the Enz Family)
The Nelson's could be her older Sister Maggie and her husband John Nelson.
I don't know Ruby.

I don't know when Alma and Oscar Brannum moved to Arkansas. I remember them as always living in Carlisle Arkansas until their deaths. they were known to me as Aunt Annie and Uncle Oscar. Aunt Annie died in the early fifties and Uncle Oscar continued living in Carlisle until his death in the sixties They never had any children. Ethel married Harrison Patterson (known to me as Aunt Ethel and Uncle Pat) and returned to Kansas. They had a family but I do not remember having ever met those Kansas cousins

Apr.19
Dear Father and Mother received your card sure was glad to hear of Elsie’s improvement
we are wet had a little rain Tues night Os. & I went fishing yesterday eve I caught a turtle & a Sucker about 41/2 lb. had more than I could eat for breakfast. Oscar said he didn’t have time to pick the bones out. I dug the bait caught and dressed and cooked the fish and let him pick his own bones.
We and Mr. Huser are getting ready to sow more alfalfa where the dry weather killed it out. I am cleaning the yard& the wind commences about the time I do.
How is Uncle Milord.
Now Pa you come up well go fishing. Let me know if Elsie don’t get along Alma.

This card is from William and Elizabeth's daughter Alma. Alma married Oscar Brannum. Alma and Oscar later move to Arkansas.
The Elsie mentioned in this card was another of William and Elisabeth's Daughters Elsie was married to George Raborn. Elsie and George lived in Carlisle Arkansas (neighbors to William and Elizabeth)Elsie had given birth to her first child March 25 (Leon my Father)and had not recovered quickly.
