Hello Ethel
how are you and what are you going to do for Xmas. We are all well hope this find you the same
Maude

The older sister in Ks. is wishing her younger sister in Arkansas a Merry Xmas. The date written on the card looks like 1919. The postmark looks like 1906.The date on both should read 1909. it seems mail was sent from Kansas the day it was mailed or the day after, I wonder how long it took before it reached the Post office in Arkansas? Also wonder how often the Smiths made the trip (5 miles) to Carlisle to get mail?

This is a card from Maude 'Smith' Timmons, she was married to Walter Timmons. The Cy that is mentioned is her brother Cyrus M. Smith both are children of William and Elizabeth. Cyrus was married to Ellen 'Ferguson' Smith. Maude and Cyrus or their families never moved to Arkansas and were always referred to as the Kansas folks as I was growing up.
