Fred and Berniece were married in Gillette, Wyoming at the First Presbyterian Church on May 7, 1980. Their children were bridesmaids, groomsmen, ushers and photographer. Their grandchildren, Jennifer and Terry Lee were the flower girl and ring bearer. Bernieces eldest son, Ernest, gave the bride away. Their first home was in the Rawhide Division of homes in Gillette. Fred worked for the Amax Eagle Butte Mine and Berniece worked at the Amax Belle Aire Mine.

In January of 1981, Fred accepted a position at the Minnehaha Mine in Sullivan, Indiana and the family moved east.

In 1986, Fred's father Loren, passed away and the family moved to Washington State to be with his mother Verona. Fred returned to civil service at the Naval Supply Center, Puget Sound as an equipment specialist in the Techical Division and retired in 1997. Berniece worked for the Southland Corporation and retired in 1998.

They have 17 children, 40 grandchildren and 4 great-grand children and are looking forward to a long and happy life enjoying all of them.
