A MESSAGE FROM OUR CAMP DIRECTOR

The Summer of 1998 will live on in our hearts and minds for every summer yet to come.
We came together in June much like strangers and now part in August like family.
The friendships that were made and the experiences lived by each one of us will not fade as those hot and hazy summertime days have.
We will remember always the reminiscences of this past summer and our tireless work to provide the best possible program experiences to our campers.
But most importantly the summer of 1998 will live on in the hearts and minds of our campers and their leaders.
The campers and leaders who you served will remember you as a staff member.,br> One day, maybe soon or late you will be approached by somebody you might not recognize immediately but who will inevitably say "Remember Me?"
So as we go forward, never to assemble in exactly this same group
let us carry with us the pride in knowing how we all touched the lives of the youth we served this summer.
Let us all remember the experiences each one of us had that made us grow and perhaps leave here a little better than when we came. With the happy comes the sad, and with the good also comes the bad.
The easy and the hard, the fun and the difficult all comprised the flames of the furnace,
which forged us into the best Cub Scout resident camp staff anywhere within our movement.
Good timber does not grow with ease, the stronger storms, the tougher trees.
I could not be any prouder than I am for having the opportunity to work with all of you.
You have meant a great deal to me, and I will miss you all very much.

John Barbaro Camp Scouthaven, Camp Director
