Hi everyone,
I have a very
special request. My little one is to have a broncoscopy Friday (11/7). She was born
4 mos early, the baby of a crack and coke mom, she had a cyst on her bronchial tree
which was removed when 2 mos old, at 7 mos the
bronchial tree collapsed for scar
tissue and we almost lost her. The surgeons did an expermential surgery that had
never been done in USA on one so little ( she weighed 9 lbs). One of the surgeons
had to fly to Canada to talk to doctors and find out how to do the surgery. Canada
had done 12--8 were a success-4 died-none had been done on a baby. She came through
the surgery fine, and has been great for 2 yrs, but now scar tissue is once again
threatening to block the airway, and the stint they put in cannot be removed without
opening her up, which is EXTREMELY dangerous.
We are adopting her in Jan.
She is the love of our life. I wrote this poem today and would like to ask all of
you to please, say a prayer for her.
Thank You Phyllis
As I set at my table and watch her;
This little one of mine,
I see the
angel wings
In which she is entwined.
No they are not visable;
They
were sent by God above.
She is a chosen one,
Sent for us to love.
As
she spills her bowl of cereal,
and it rolls across the floor;
I don't scream
and yell,
I am thankful all the more!
She bends and picks it up,
What
a wonderful sight!
I remember back to the start,
And oh! What a fright!
She
was so tiny;
Had such a bad start;
Sent to us by God,
She stole our heart!
Her
life hung by a thread,
Each day a little worse;
She was so happy,
I never
knew such hurt.
But angels were surrounding her,
and God was looking down;
He
was the great Protector;
An answer would be found.
The doctors put their
heads together,
They thought and thought some more;
But then they turned to
the One,
Who could open the door.
They asked God for his guidence,
For
knowledge, For skill;
He answered them quickly,
They were ready to do His
Will.
He sent one out of the country,
On a hurried flight;
He had new
things to learn,
For it must be done just right.
The operation was new,
Never
done before.
Once more they ask God,
And he opened the door.
He guided
their hands,
He was with them all the way,
The operation a success,
She
is proof of that today.
She chatters, she runs;
Never still for a minute.
If
there is a mess, you can bet;
She will be in it.
But we don't care,
For
a joy is she.
We love her a lot,
Our daughter to be!
But once more,
We
stand at the door,
A problem has developed
For which no answer appears,
But
God will find a way,
His Will, will be done
The doctors will meet,
Discuss
and seek;
To figure a way,
Her life to complete.
I know she has angels,
Surrounding
her here;
God knows how very,
much she is a dear.
On God I will rely,
to
see us through;
But your prayers are needed!
So pray, Please do!!
The following message was sent 11/7:
Hi Everyone,
Well, we are home from the hospital and it was NOT good
news. The airway is narrowing and the heart is starting to shift to the right. This
means air is going into the lung, but once again it is not coming out. This is what
happened 2 years ago when we almost lost her. The doctors are going to set a surgery
date and call me next week. They are going to "try" to stretch the stint.
If that doesn't work, they may have to put a bigger one in. She will spend at least
1 day in ICU IF everything goes ok.
Right now she is not in any distress, just
some mild wheezing. She will have to be watched closely.
Please keep her in
your prayers.
Thank You Phyllis
Update Friday...Nov. 21st: Chrystal is doing ok. She is to have surgery on
Dec 5th. I will let everyone know as soon as I can how it went.
Thank you
for all the prayers....Phyllis
Update Monday...Nov. 24th: The hospital called today and changed her surgery
date to Dec 10th, I am
not real happy about it. She has an appointment to be
seen on the 1st, so it may change again.
Thanks for all the prayers.
Happy
Thanksgiving. Phyllis
I will continue to keep you posted on Chrystal's progress. Thank you so much for all of your prayers and encouragement. You can contact Phyllis at her e-mail address.
