The Movie ~ "The Lamb"
Garth Brooks, along with Lisa Sanderson, his partner in the film production company Red Strokes Entertainment, and Tracey and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds of Edmonds Entertainment, announced details of his upcoming Capitol Records CD, "In the Life of Chris Gaines," scheduled for an October release. At a press conference held on the Paramount Studios lot, Brooks talked about creating the CD as part of a unique and history-making plan to launch a film character from a future feature, "The Lamb." The film will be produced by Red Strokes Entertainment in association with Edmonds Entertainment.

"The Lamb," a thriller currently in development at Paramount, focuses on the life of an international pop/rock superstar named Chris Gaines. The CD was conceived as an introduction of Chris Gaines and of his music. The collection represents the "greatest hits" of Gaines, and the musical sounds span the decades of the '80s and '90s. Produced by Don Was, it contains fourteen original songs. Liner notes in the CD package will provide listeners with the details of Gaines' life and career. "Garth has accomplished a feat of Herculean proportions," said Was. "He has summoned up the long-gone thrill of innovation, adventure and risk that was once the foundation of rock 'n' roll music. More importantly, he has done so while making an artistically gratifying album that blossoms under the scrutiny of repeated listening. Those who approach music from a cynical and judgmental point of view are in for the shock of a lifetime - I can't wait for this record to be released!!!"

The first single from the Chris Gaines project, "Lost In You," will be shipped to Top 40 and A/C radio stations in August. Pat Quigley, President and CEO of Capitol Records Nashville, said, "'In the Life of Chris Gaines' is exactly what you'd expect from Garth Brooks - the totally unexpected. This is a remarkable undertaking for Garth, and Capitol is proud to reveal yet another facet of his personality and evidence of his incredible talent."

Producers of "The Lamb" will be Tracey Edmonds for Edmonds Entertainment and Lisa Sanderson and Garth Brooks for Red Strokes Entertainment. Executive Producer will be Kenneth Edmonds. The screenplay is being written by Jeb Stuart ("Die Hard," "The Fugitive.")
