A)Example-the accurate pattern of the days, months, years, and seasons show this to be so. We can mark our calendars for 100 years ahead and be accurate. B)Another example God has a pattern for worship. Ex. 25:40 see that thou make all things according to the pattern shown thee in the mount. Even to the fire the incense was offered with had to be exactly right— Lev. 10:1,2 Nadab and Abihu were killed because they offered incense with strange fire. Uzzah was killed for touching the ark of the covenant 2 Sam. 6:5. Uzziah was given leprosy because he took the priest’s place to offer incense.(2 Chron 26:16) IN THE NEW TESTAMENT WE ARE TOLD TO HOLD FAST THE PATTERN OF SOUND WORDS WHICH WERE HEARD FROM PAUL IN FAITH AND LOVE IN CHRIST JESUS. I Tim. 1:13. There is a pattern for worship, a pattern for the church, a pattern for salvation, a pattern for living all laid out. God has a pattern for marriage and the home. A)In Gen. 2;24,25 he laid down the principles of one man and one woman joining together in marriage for life. Men have in all the years since deviated from the pattern of God and he has allowed it-but his pattern is still there. B)In Mat. 19:3-9 he reestablishes his beginning pattern. C)In Romans 7:1-3 he points it out and in I Cor. 7:1-3 he again shows it. God’s only exceptions are Mat. 19:9 for the world and I Cor. 7:15 for the Christian. These amount to the same thing “fornication”. Measuring the temple is measuring the church.(I Cor.3:16;6:19,20) A)Do we sing in worship? (Eph. 5:19) B)Do we put on a program for the worshippers?(John 4:24) C)Do we have the Lord’s Supper on thefirst day of the week? (Acts 20:7) D)Do we give as they gave in the early church?
