Arco Guitar

 

The arco guitar is a lying down classical guitar played with long wood stick as a bow with extremely slow movements. This system generates an intensive polyphony of timbre controlled by one musician. The bow characteristics we control are: Position, Direction, Speed and Pressure.

 

 

The score is written like a tablatura, each "bar" is a photo of a precise action on arco guitar. The lines represent the strings. The full line is string played, for example in second "bar" the 6th and 4th strings are played. The bow movement is perpendicular to the strings, the bow speed is slow, the bow pressure is light and the position is the harmonic #2 on the neck ...
