THE BYBLOS DISC
The Byblos disc dates from between XVIIIth and XIth
centuries B.C. and was discovered at the Byblos site (Lebanon) in 1936 during
P. Montet's excavations. Unlike the Indusian Genoscopic Kalandar,
the scripture of the Byblos disc can be understood (reading from right to left) :
pictograms, numbers and the Phoenician alphabet.
Nevertheless, the structure remains the same : a musical calendar which has the title :
"3 'Days' somewhere in Time".

TRANSCRIPTION OF THE BYBLOS DISC
dated back to the XIth century B.C. unearthed during P. Montet's excavations in 1936. Pr. J. L. Lafond translated the Byblos Disc from Phoenician to French, Michael Fibe and Giancarlo Siciliano from French to English. The word "day" is not the exact translation from the Phoenician but it is the nearest word according to the concept of the Byblos Disc.

The Byblos Disc is composed of 9 circles divided over 3 "days"; 7 parts; 4 parts and 6 parts + one empty. The small "c" followed by a number corresponds to the circles counting from the centre of the Byblos Disc. The reading in Phoenician is from right to left.
